The Liberia Institute for Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) is pleased to provide PCODES that are useful for spatial data collection by individuals, public and private institutions, development partners and civil society organizations at the county, district, clan and village/town levels in Liberia. The PCODES were developed after the conduct of the National and Population and Housing Census in 2008.
A PCODE is a unique number that identifies a village in Liberia and it in the following format: LR030800801. The usage of this CODE is explained below.
The two letters (LR) represent the Country, Liberia; the first two digits following the two letters represent the county in which the village is located; the next two digits represent the district, the next three digits represent the clan and the last two digits represent the city/town/village.
The above unique number, PCODE, represents the village, FISH, and is defined as follows:
